POTOSI LAKE VILLAGE, INC.

MINUTES OF MEETING, OCT.  5, 2004

 

 

Meeting called to order by Rick Harris.  Motioned by Dan Kelly to suspend the rules of order so Randy (Mosier) O’Neail and Larry Daniels could speak. Motion carried.  Randy (Mosier) O’Neail was present to clarify remarks made by him to Debbie Cawley concerning the sewer treatment plants.   Randy stated that he told Debbie that any H.I.V. &/or contaminated water entering sewer plant would be destroyed in system and only non-contaminated water would exit system.  Larry reported there are no updates at this time on sewer system; we are in a holding pattern until after election.

 

ROLL CALL

   Members present were Rick Harris, Dan Kelly, Bethany Blessing, Judy Skiles, & Chris Boyer.  Also present was Fred Francis, Larry Daniels, Bob Skiles & Randy (Moiser) O’Neail.

 

MINUTES

   Bethany Blessing read the minutes from the Sept 7th meeting.  Minutes were approved as read after discussion.

 

CORRESPONDENCE

   Secretary was presented with four new bills presented by Dan Kelly & Larry Daniels. 

Frank Silvey returned weed eater to Fred Francis along with a note stating that he thought it was to replace his personal weed eater.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT

   Dan Kelly read financial report.  During discussion a correction was made to grass funds changing amount from $150. to  $177.75.  Report was corrected, approved and filed for audit.

 

OFFICER/COMMITTEE REPORT

   No report on pavilion.  Rick Harris has created a Potosi Lake Village web site.  (HTTP://potosilake.tripod.com)  Site contains information concerning any Potosi Lake information.  Rick will continue to update this information. 

Rick Harris and Dan Kelly met with lawyer Mike Kelly to discuss bylaws and covenants.  We need to gather more information concerning bylaw and covenants.  The only recourse for changes to the covenants would be the removal of a restriction.

Dan and Rick went to Sheriff’s department to check on rumors of a sex offender living at Potosi Lake.  They were informed this is a true fact. 

Chris Boyer reports that the Fish Conservationist will be on sight sometime between Oct. 18-20.

NEXT MEETING

Nov. meeting to be held at the Washington County Library Tuesday Nov. 2nd. at 7:00 p.m.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

   Three property owners still are in arrears with their assessments.  As soon as bylaws and covenants are restructured, legal proceedings will take place at that time.

Judy Skiles made mention to re-contact lawyer concerning bylaws and covenants.  Dan Kelly asked her to recall her motion, and she recalled the motion.  Dan Kelly made the motion that Rick Harris appoints a committee to study bylaws and covenants and then contact lawyer.  Seconded by Chris Boyer.  Motion carried.

Rick Harris appointed Dan Kelly (Chairman), Judy Skiles and Fred Francis to investigate bylaw and covenants.

Dan Kelly is working on dry fire hydrants.  Rick is contacting contractors for road repairs. 

Robert Sexton will take care of animal trapping as they come in season.

 

 NEW BUSINESS

   Oct. work day project will be Sat. Oct 9 (planned to trim trees on Demick Dr. and winterize pavilion).

Judy made the motion for Dan Kelly to buy new mailbox for Potosi Lake Village, Chris seconded.  Motion carried.  Mailbox will be lock type and is to be installed across from

Pavilion.  

Rick Harris is taking nominations for two new board members. 

Judy Skiles made a motion for a suggestion box to be installed at pavilion. Seconded by Chris Boyer.  Dan Kelly said he would build the unit. Motion to install box carried. 

Rick Harris asked for a motion to buy software for Potosi Lake Village.  Dan Kelly made motion for Rick Harris to buy micro-soft Word and Excel.  Judy seconded motion.  Rick Harris is to shop for best price on software.  Motion to buy software carried. 

Dan Kelly stated that 2005 assessments will go out Nov. 2004.  Anyone wishing to send out any comments or information to the members should turn it in to the secretary by Nov. 02, 2004.

Judy Skiles made motion to pay all outstanding bills, seconded by Chris Boyer.  Motion carried.

Dan Kelly made the motion to contact Bill Semet to stop trash pick-up at the end of Oct. and for final bill to be pay.  Chris seconded.  Motion carried.

 

OTHER

   No further business or comments offered at this time.
